I am a really big fan of the Cinnamon and Mate desktop environments. I have tried them in MInt but not on Ubuntu. How does it run in Ubuntu compared to Unity? Meaning does it use less system resources, do apps and menus open quicker? I like Unity, but I find that it can become pretty laggy, at least on my system. Thanks.
